4/20/2020 0 Comments Art Night is Now Virtual! We hope everyone is staying safe at home! During this time many of us are struggling trying to find ways to stay entertained. The District had a fun solution, we have decided to move our art night virtual! Now moved to April 22, we will post a video tutorial with step by step instructions to create an artistic masterpiece. All you will need is some sort of canvas, three of your favorite color acrylic paints, a paint brush, and a glass of your favorite wine or local brew (if you're 21+)! The District will be providing a supplies pack, including a local brew, for $25! Call ahead and we will have it ready for curb side pick up! You can also use supplies you have at home. We will also post a separate video highlighting local artists and their art displayed at The District. We believe that even during this difficult time it is important to support local art and local business, so we will also be posting contact information for the artist highlighted so you can make a donation or purchase the artwork highlighted in the video.
You shouldn't be deprived of good coffee because of coronavirus quarantine Can't make it to your favorite cafe? While The District offers a curbside delivery, we want to share how you can create your go-to order at home, and encourage you to have fun and try some new recipes while in quarantine.
Dalgona Coffee: This whipped coffee drink is the latest trend taking over social media. Popularized in South Korea, encouraging people to engage in social distancing, this drink comprises of only three ingredients: instant coffee, sugar, and milk. Add two tablespoons of instant coffee, two tablespoons of sugar, and two tablespoons of hot water to a bowl. Using a whisk or a hand mixer, whisk the mixture between 2-5 minutes until whipped. Grab a cup with ice, pour of your milk of choice, add the whipped coffee, and a straw to stir. Enjoy! Cold-Brewed Coffee: Grind your coffee of choice coarsely, and add it into a mason jar or pitcher with warm water. Try starting with a 3/4 cup of ground coffee steeped in four cups of water. Let the mixture steep overnight, or for at least 12 hours. Slowly, the coffee is infusing the water, creating a strong concentrated brew for you to enjoy the next morning. Strain your coffee before drinking, and add it with your choice of sweetener, milk, or enjoy it plain over ice. Caramel Macchiato: Pour your sweetener of choice at the bottom of your cup. Add ice and your choice of milk. Typically, this drink is made with shots of espresso or coffee on top. If you are using espresso, start by adding a 2 oz shot of espresso to your drink. If you don't have espresso, try using a concentrated cold brew, or concentrated shot of instant coffee. Add caramel drizzle, and enjoy! You don't need to have fancy coffee equipment to make a great cup of coffee. A drip coffee maker, stovetop espresso maker, french press, or coffee grinder can be an inexpensive purchase for starters. With some simple equipment and a fresh bag of coffee beans, it's possible to continue enjoying some great-tasting coffee that you made in the comfort of your own home. 4/4/2020 0 Comments It's Springtime!Midterms have come and gone and now we're in the final stretch of the semester.
